About
Leather: Did you know...
Crocodile:
A
beautiful leather best suited for dress wear. This leather never looses
its sheen, and if taken care of can last a lifetime.
Sheep:
Long
known for it's value when used for coats and jackets, both for warmth and
for it's soft gentle nature.
Cow: This
leather still is one of the most extensively used leathers for shoes, boots,
and belts. Durable and easy to care for it provides a long-life for the
wearer, and is available in many colors and textures.
Water buffalo:
Currently one of the most popular boot leathers. It is a very tough skin
available in dozens of colors, and is soft and supple, yet has good tensile
strength and provides long wear. It is resistant to scuffing, peeling,
and scratching.
Stingray:
There
is no other skin that looks more like it was imported from another planet.
It is so tough, and breaks so many needles, that not all boot makers will
work with it. Stingray is available in many colors, and has a marbled,
gravel-like texture, resembling thousands of tiny pebbles glued to a leather
backdrop. The skin is maintenance free, durable, and can be worn for work
or dress. It is perfect for puddle jumping because it is waterproof.
Cobra or
Boa constrictor: Snakeskin
leathers are good for everyday wear or for dress. Their beautiful patterns
make them ideal for boots, bests, or decorative panels on jackets, hats,
and coats. Our uniquely tooled shoes and jackets made from snakeskin leather
are a favorite for our customers. |
